Our parenting programs will help you help your troubled teens.

You will learn to challenge yourself and to follow through with action. The positive effects on our life and on your family will be immediate. The seminar will be scheduled with your therapist. We consider this seminar experience to be an integral and crucial part of your child's treatment.

The goal of the seminars is to assist parents in developing family skills as well as personal skills. SunHawk's desire is to provide lasting changes in your life as well as your son or daughter's life. To do this, it is necessary to involve the entire family in a support program designed to integrate new behaviors when your student returns home.

The Level I Awakening Seminar for Parents is the same as the Level I Seminar your son/daughter attends. This common experience provides increasing avenues of communication between parents and their children.

The Parent Seminar is held Wednesday through Thursday evening. If you are planning to come to a seminar, plan to arrive Tuesday night. Friday is a Parent Education/Therapy Day, and you will have the opportunity to meet with your child and Therapist in Family Groups that afternoon. Most parents then stay for week-end visits with their child.

We have a subsequent Parent Education/Therapy Day approximately 5 - 8 weeks after the Awakening Seminar. This one day session is held on a Friday and follows much the same format as the previous Parent Education/Therapy Day held the Friday after the Seminar

In addition, an optional Level II Parent Awareness Seminar can be offered if there is enough parent interest. As with the Level I Parent Awakening Seminar, it is the same content as your child will receive in their Level II Awareness Seminar.
